General Information

Area

After a long journey you will want some provisions and maybe a takeout. Turning right from Legacy Park back onto the 27 about ½ mile back up to Berry town centre you will find a Publix supermarket and very good pizza, Chinese and Indian takeouts.

Turning left from Legacy Park and driving approx 2 miles you will find a pizza restaurant that do takeouts. a fuel station, Bank of America and Walmart supermarket (you can buy almost anything here from groceries to household, clothes and tyres!) Also this direction is the exit from Hway 27 to Hway 192, your quickest way to the Disney attractions, numerous and varied dining facilities, Celebration, Kissimmee Old Town, International Drive and much more.

International Drive is the site for many more attractions, Wet`n`Wild, ice skating, bowling, a park with theatres and cinemas and Point 1 Outlets (formally Belz outlets), a great place for shopping. Golfers should call in at Edwin Watts Clearance store. Coming back down International Drive you will cross Vineland Avenue, turn right and you will come to Orlando Premium Outlets, passing a very good Outback Steakhouse on your way.

On Friday and Saturday evenings Kissimmee Old Town hosts a cruise for custom built and modified old cars, as well as shopping, well worth a visit. On Sunday mornings there is a small market in the pretty town of Celebration where you can stroll around the lake and maybe stop for a coffee and snack in one of the many coffee shops.

When going to the Parks aim to arrive early and upgrade your ticket (limited number available), enabling you to jump the queues for the rides. Wear comfortable shoes, it can be a very long day if you stay for the fireworks in the evening.

Golfers – plan your days out and book your tee times in advance. Play early when it is not so warm, also leaving you the rest of the day free. Having said that, most places do reductions for afternoon tee times but bear in mind that it gets darker earlier in summer than we do in the UK.
